Mr. Traverse has worked as an agriculture advisor with the government extension service and now owns and manages his own nursery, multi-purpose woodlot and peat harvesting operation. He has recently self-published a book for Northern gardeners which has become a local best seller.

As a horticultural advisor, Mr. Traverse has special expertise in the field of plant nutrition, especially in the formulation of soil mixes for the horticultural industry. He has done consultation work in this field in both Egypt and Canada.
